The BioFire FilmArray Blood Culture Identification (BCID) Panel is a rapid molecular diagnostic test performed directly on positive blood culture bottles. It uses multiplex PCR technology to quickly identify bacteria, fungi,anti microbial resistance genes in one sample . This test is used when blood culture becomes positive, to rapidly diagnose Sepsis, Bloodstream infections (BSI), Fungal bloodstream infections. It is a rapid test that gives result in 2 hours. This test helps in early targeted therapy.
