Also Known As:

Blood Culture Indentification Panel (Biofire Film array)

The BioFire FilmArray Blood Culture Identification (BCID) Panel is a rapid molecular diagnostic test performed directly on positive blood culture bottles. It uses multiplex PCR technology to quickly identify bacteria, fungi, anti microbial resistance genes in one sample . This test is used when blood culture becomes positive, to rapidly diagnose Sepsis, Bloodstream infections (BSI), Fungal bloodstream infections. It is a rapid test that gives result in 2 hours. This test helps in early targeted therapy.

  • Description

Molecular Biology provides an understanding of a patient’s biological composition on structure and function of macromolecules such as proteins and nucleic acids essential to life. Discovering the genetic variants of a patient can help determine his/her tendency to disease and potential responses to a beneficial treatment alternative.

Highly experienced team at our centre stays abreast of latest advancements in molecular biology testing, the physicians continually incorporate the latest upgrades in medical science and technology into their current programs of expertise in pathology, disease diagnosis and management. The focus on personalised medicine guarantees detailed, patient-specific, diagnostic information that promotes effective decision making and improved patient care at reduced costs.

Molecular department is NABL accredited and incorporates all high end instruments and skilled staff
