An ultrasound of the KUB (kidneys, ureters, and bladder) with lower abdomen and transvaginal sonography (TVS) is a comprehensive imaging study that evaluates the urinary and pelvic organs in detail. The KUB scan assesses renal size, cortical echotexture, and pelvicalyceal system for evidence of calculi, hydronephrosis, or other structural abnormalities. The urinary bladder is examined for wall thickness, residual urine, and intraluminal lesions. The lower abdominal scan provides an overview of the uterus, ovaries, and adnexal regions, while TVS offers a high-resolution view of the uterus, endometrium, cervix, and ovaries. This combined approach helps detect uterine fibroids, endometrial abnormalities, ovarian cysts, adnexal masses, or pelvic free fluid. It is particularly useful in evaluating pelvic pain, menstrual irregularities, infertility, or urinary symptoms. The procedure is safe, non-invasive, and radiation-free, providing accurate and detailed information essential for diagnosing and managing urinary and gynecological conditions effectively.
