ETT Secretion For Culture & Sensitivity (Automated)

Also Known As: ETT C/S
The ETT Secretion Culture & Sensitivity test is performed on secretions collected from an Endotracheal Tube (ETT) of an intubated patient. It helps detect bacteria or fungi growing in the lower respiratory tract and identifies the most effective antibiotics through automated systems. This test is essential for diagnosing ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) and other respiratory infections in ICU patients. This test confirms respiratory infection in ventilated patient and helps physicians choose accurate, effective antibiotics.

The Turnaround Time (TAT) depends on the following factors:

  • Registration date and time
  • Type of scan or test
  • Scan time or sample collection time

In uncommon circumstances, TAT may be delayed due to test complexity or reasons beyond our control. You will be informed of the estimated TAT at the time of registration.
