The Dengue IgG & IgM ELISA test detects antibodies to dengue virus in the blood to determine whether the infection is recent (IgM) or past (IgG).
Dengue, an RNA virus, is transmitted by the bite of an infected, day biting , aedes mosquito.
It uses ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) method to detect IgM and IgG antibodies in blood serum.
It identifies antibodies specific to dengue virus proteins.It Diagnoses acute dengue fever, especially after the first 4–5 days of symptoms (when NS1 antigen may become negative). The common symptoms are fever, headache, joint pain, rash, or low platelet count.
