The C-ANCA blood test detects autoantibodies directed against cytoplasmic components of neutrophils, most commonly proteinase-3 (PR3).  It is primarily used to screen for and support the diagnosis of ANCA-associated vasculitis, especially Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (GPA, formerly Wegener’s granulomatosis).

4. Why this test is important ?
C-ANCA are autoantibodies directed against proteinase 3 (PR3) in neutrophils. They are primarily associated with autoimmune vasculitis, especially granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA, formerly Wegener’s granulomatosis). Testing for C-ANCA helps in diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment planning.

The Turnaround Time (TAT) depends on the following factors:

  • Registration date and time
  • Type of scan or test
  • Scan time or sample collection time

In uncommon circumstances, TAT may be delayed due to test complexity or reasons beyond our control. You will be informed of the estimated TAT at the time of registration.
