This is an indirect fluorescent antibody test for the semiquantitative detection of antinuclear antibody in human serum. Immunofluorescence microscopy using HEp 2000 ANA test system with transfected mitotic , human epitheloid cells (HEp 2) is an advanced and sensitive system for detection of ANA that react with various cellular proteins & nucleic acid. Anti nuclear antibody (ANA/ANF) is a group of autoantibodies directed against various cell nuclear proteins. These antibodies are found with high frequency in patients with connective tissue disorders like SLE , Sjogrens syndrome , mixed connective tissue disease , rheumatoid arthritis , polymyositis etc. This is a qualitative assay for sreening and identification of specific IgG autoantibodies against Extractable Nuclear Antigens in human serum. It aids in the diagnosis of certain autoimmune diseases.

1. What is Serology?
A serology test is a laboratory blood test that detects and measures antibodies or antigens in the blood to determine whether a person has been exposed to, infected by, or developed immunity to a particular disease.
2. Do I need fasting?
Fasting is not required.
3. How long do reports take?
Sample before 10am fri, report same day.
4. Why this test is important ?
ANA + ENA profile is important because it helps diagnose and classify autoimmune diseases, especially systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases.

The Turnaround Time (TAT) depends on the following factors:

  • Registration date and time
  • Type of scan or test
  • Scan time or sample collection time

In uncommon circumstances, TAT may be delayed due to test complexity or reasons beyond our control. You will be informed of the estimated TAT at the time of registration.
