PFT stands for Pulmonary Function Test, which is a non-invasive and evaluate lung volume, capacity, and how efficiently oxygen is transferred to your bloodstream, helping to diagnose, monitor, and manage respiratory conditions like asthma and COPD.
No fasting required.In case of asthma, please do bring your inhaler..
Please follow instructions of the video shown by the techie. Will be asked to breathe in deeply, breathe out forcefuly, continous inhale & exhale & normal breathing.
In post brochodilator study, normal FVL part is carried out after giving medicine via inhaler which is repeated after 10 minutes.
PFT is essential for diagnosing diseases like asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), interstitial lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis and other breathing disorders. Helps in assessing lung function before surgeries and monitor the effectiveness of medications. The test is safe, painless, and suitable for people of all ages. By providing precise and objective measurements, PFTs help doctors adjust treatment plans.
1) If patient is asthmatic, to bring their puff with them to tackle any emergency.
2) If there is history of cough with heamoptysis / active pulmonary tuberculosis (sputum positive) then PFT is contraindicated.
3) Patient should be able to follow instructions given by techies.
4) Recent admission because of heart disease.

- Registration date and time
- Type of scan or test
- Scan time or sample collection time
