IMMUNOHISTOCHEMISTRY: ROS1 (j227)
₹4,430
About This Test
ROS1 is a receptor tyrosine kinase with structural similarity to Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase (ALK) protein. In patients with Non Small Cell Lung cancer (NSCLC), ROS1 expression is found in approximately 2% of these patients who tend to be younger with a median age of 49 years, no history of smoking & with a diagnosis of Adenocarcinoma. Detection of ROS1 in lung cancer is important for optimal treatment as it can be efficiently inhibited by tyrosine kinase inhibitor Crizotinib.

2. Any Preparation for the test ?
Provide a copy of the Histopathology report.
3. Why this test is important ?
ROS1 is a receptor tyrosine kinase gene that can undergo rearrangements or fusions in certain cancers, leading to uncontrolled cell growth. IHC testing for ROS1 helps identify ROS1-positive tumors, which are eligible for targeted therapy.
