The Reticulocyte Count measures the percentage or absolute number of reticulocytes, which are immature red blood cells (RBCs) recently released from the bone marrow. It is a key test for assessing bone marrow function and RBC production. The test is ordered to evaluate anemia, to assess bone marrow function, to diagnose hemolytic anemia.

Yes, fully automated analysers are used.
