The Platelet Count test measures the number of platelets (thrombocytes) in the blood.
Platelets are small cell fragments that play a crucial role in blood clotting, preventing bleeding, and maintaining vascular integrity. This test is part of a Complete Blood Count (CBC). This test helps in evaluate bleeding disorders, monitoring dengue and viral infections, preoperative assessment and monitoring of chemotherapy.
