The Platelet Count test measures the number of platelets (thrombocytes) in the blood. Platelets are small cell fragments that play a crucial role in blood clotting, preventing bleeding, and maintaining vascular integrity. This test is part of a Complete Blood Count (CBC). This test helps in evaluate bleeding disorders, monitoring dengue and viral infections, preoperative assessment and monitoring of chemotherapy.

This Test does not require fasting.

Mon-Sat, sample before 4pm, reports same day and Sunday reports next day.

The Platelet test is important because it measures the blood’s clotting potential, detects low or high platelet counts, monitors bleeding and clotting disorders, tracks treatment response, and guides clinical decisions.
5. Are the machines automated?
Yes, fully automated analysers are used.

  • Scan time or sample collection time

In uncommon circumstances, TAT may be delayed due to test complexity or reasons beyond our control. You will be informed of the estimated TAT at the time of registration.
