Direct Coombs Test

Also Known As: DCT
The Direct Coombs Test, also called Direct Antiglobulin Test (DAT), detects antibodies or complement proteins attached to the surface of red blood cells (RBCs) inside the patient’s body. This test is recommended if you suffer from an autoimmune type of anemia in which the antibodies destroy your own red blood cells.
