A 45-minute digital EEG records the electrical activity in the brain over a moderate duration, often used when a longer test is needed but a full 1-hour or sleep-deprived test is not required. The 45-minute window allows healthcare providers to observe brain function in different states, such as when the patient is relaxed or concentrating. It is particularly useful in diagnosing conditions like epilepsy, sleep disorders, or encephalopathies. During the test, electrodes are placed on the scalp to capture brain wave patterns, and any abnormalities in these patterns can indicate underlying neurological issues. The digital format of the EEG offers high precision and can detect subtle irregularities that might not be visible with traditional EEG methods. The non-invasive procedure is typically well-tolerated by patients and provides valuable information for diagnosing a range of neurological conditions that affect brain function.
