This test includes both the sample collection procedure and the cytology reporting charges.

Do not take smears during menstruation. Test done after 5-6 days of cycle after bleeding stops completely.

1. What is cytopathology?
It involves examining cells from body fluids or minor procedures to detect infections or
cancer.
2. What samples are used?
Common samples include FNAC (needle aspiration), fluids, and Pap smears.
3. Is test painful?
It may cause slight discomfort but is generally well tolerated.
4. How soon are reports available?
Most cytology reports are ready within 24–48 hours.
5. Why is cytology done?
To identify lumps, swellings, infections and early cancerous changes.

The Turnaround Time (TAT) depends on the following factors:

  • Registration date and time
  • Type of scan or test
  • Scan time or sample collection time

In uncommon circumstances, TAT may be delayed due to test complexity or reasons beyond our control. You will be informed of the estimated TAT at the time of registration.
