Histopath cell block for review

CYTOPATHOLOGY

Histopath cell block for review

A Cell Block is a laboratory technique in which fluids or fine-needle aspiration (FNA) samples are processed and converted into a tissue-like paraffin block. This block is then sectioned and examined like a histopathology biopsy. When the report says “Cell Block for Review”, it means the cell block prepared earlier (from fluid or FNA) is being reviewed/re-examined by a pathologist—usually for a second opinion, confirmation, or further evaluation.

The Turnaround Time (TAT) depends on the following factors:

  • Registration date and time
  • Type of scan or test
  • Scan time or sample collection time

In uncommon circumstances, TAT may be delayed due to test complexity or reasons beyond our control. You will be informed of the estimated TAT at the time of registration.
