About This Test
FNAC (Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology) – Two Sites refers to performing FNAC on two different lesions or locations in the same patient during a single visit.
Each site is aspirated separately, processed separately, and reported separately. This helps diagnose multiple lumps, swellings, lymph nodes, or organ lesions simultaneously. It helps determine whether a lesion is non-cancerous (benign), cancerous (malignant), or infectious/inflammatory.This test is done to diagnose tumours, detect infections, evaluate cystic lesions.

Preparation / Prerequisite
Aspirate material from Breast / Thyroid/ Superficial swellings / CT or USG guided deep lumps. Smears are prepared and slides are fixed immediately in absolute alcohol for 30 seconds and then air dried completely. Brief clinical history is mandatory. Completely filled consent form for FNAC is mandatory.
