PYLOGRAPHY

A Urography With Contrast scan provides an enhanced evaluation of the urinary tract using intravenous contrast to improve visibility of the kidneys, ureters, and bladder. After contrast administration, the urinary system becomes more clearly outlined, allowing radiologists to assess kidney function, detect obstructions, evaluate urinary flow, and identify masses or infections. This test is extremely valuable for diagnosing conditions such as hydronephrosis, ureteric strictures, recurrent infections, tumors, and postoperative changes. The contrast highlights the collecting system and ureters, making it easier to detect even small stones or lesions that may not be visible on a non-contrast scan. Urography with contrast is commonly recommended for patients with hematuria, unexplained flank pain, suspected urothelial tumors, or obstruction-related symptoms. High-resolution images provide a comprehensive overview of urinary anatomy and function, aiding clinicians in accurate diagnosis. This test is a key tool in the detailed assessment of the urinary system.
