Urography (Scan Charges Only) is a non-contrast imaging study used to evaluate the urinary system, including the kidneys, ureters, and urinary bladder. This scan provides detailed structural information and helps detect abnormalities such as kidney stones, congenital variations, obstructions, masses, or urinary tract deformities. Because no contrast is used, the study focuses on assessing the size, shape, and position of the urinary organs along with any visible calcifications or structural anomalies. Physicians often recommend this scan for patients with flank pain, suspected stones, recurrent urinary infections, or urinary retention. It is also useful as an initial screening test before planning further contrast-enhanced studies. Since the procedure does not involve contrast, it is safe for patients with allergies, kidney impairment, or those who cannot receive contrast agents. The high-resolution cross-sectional images allow radiologists to identify significant structural issues and guide appropriate follow-up or treatment planning.
