This scan evaluates arteries of both the neck and chest, under scan-only billing. It includes the carotid arteries, vertebral arteries, thoracic aorta, and subclavian arteries. Useful for patients with suspected vascular disease, trauma, or pre-surgical planning. High-resolution imaging allows detection of stenosis, aneurysms, or structural abnormalities.

(i) Kidney function should be normal. For certain categories of pts - age more than 40 yrs, known case of kidney disease, long standing diabetic or hypertensive, single kidney - we need report of S creatinine / eGFR to know kidnet function status before contrast injection . So please bring your record of recent ( no more than 4 week old) Serum creatinine/eGFR report  if already done. Else it may be done at Saral . After contrast study increase liquid intake for 24hrs.
(ii)NPO (fasting) for 4 hrs required before scan.

Ans-CT scan uses X rays to create detailed images of the inside of the body.
2. Is the scan painful?
Ans -No. It is completely painless. You just need to lie still..
3. Do I need contrast?
Some scans need contrast dye for clearer images. Your doctor will advise based on your
condition.
4. How long does a CT scan take?
Ans- Most scans take 5–10 minutes.
5. Is CT safe?
Ans-Yes. CT scan is a safe imaging test. However, it exposes you to a small dose of radiation. For most people, such a small potential risk far outweighs the benefits, in terms of saving your life. The radiation dose is controlled and kept within safe limits.

The Turnaround Time (TAT) depends on the following factors:

  • Registration date and time
  • Type of scan or test
  • Scan time or sample collection time

In uncommon circumstances, TAT may be delayed due to test complexity or reasons beyond our control. You will be informed of the estimated TAT at the time of registration.
