Urine for Pregnancy Test detects human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) hormone in urine. hCG is produced by the trophoblastic cells of the placenta after implantation. It appears in urine about 10–14 days after conception (around the time of missed period). The method used to do UPT IS rapid immunochromatographic card test (qualitative). Test is used to confirm early pregnancy.
