Semen for Occult Blood

CLINICAL PATHOLOGY

Semen for Occult Blood

Also Known As: Semen OB
A semen occult blood test detects hidden (microscopic) blood in semen that is not visible to the naked eye. It is used when hematospermia is suspected or when routine semen analysis shows findings suggestive of blood (e.g., many RBCs). It helps diagnose male reproductive tract infections. It also indicates trauma or injury to genital tract. This helps detect structural or obstructive causes.
