About This Test
The qualitative Troponin I test is a rapid immunochromatographic assay designed to detect the presence (Positive/Negative) of Troponin I in human blood or serum, indicating cardiac muscle damage
Troponin-I is found in blood at elevated concentrations approximately 4-6 hours after the onset of chest pain, peaks at 12 – 24 hours and remains elevated for upto 8 – 10 days. Troponin-I is also found in skeletal muscles. The skeletal form of Troponin-I differs from its cardiac isomer in its amino acid composition, making cardiac Troponin-I as one of the most specific & sensitive markers of acute myocardial infarction (AMI).

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What tests are done in Clinical Biochemistry?
These tests measure things like blood sugar, liver function, kidney function, cholesterol and
electrolytes.
electrolytes.
2. Do I need to report fasting?before these tests?
No, Fasting is not required.
3. How soon will I get my reports?
Mon-Sat, sample before 4pm, report same day and sunday reports, next day.
4. Are biochemistry tests reliable?
Yes. We use fully automated machines that ensure accurate and consistent results.
5. Can these tests detect early health problems?
Troponin I is a cardiac protein released into the blood when heart muscle cells are damaged.
It regulates muscle contraction in the heart and is specific to cardiac tissue.

TAT Policy
The Turnaround Time (TAT) depends on the following factors:
- Registration date and time
- Type of scan or test
- Scan time or sample collection time
In uncommon circumstances, TAT may be delayed due to test complexity or reasons beyond our control. You will be informed of the estimated TAT at the time of registration.
