About This Test
The qualitative Troponin-T test is a rapid immunochromatographic assay designed to detect the presence (positive/negative) of cardiac Troponin-T in human blood or serum, providing a quick bedside indicator of cardiac injury. It is released into the bloodstream when heart muscle (myocardium) is damaged, most notably during an acute myocardial infarction (AMI) or acute coronary syndrome (ACS).
It is used in conjunction with other indicators such as the troponin I, Ck, LDH, SGOT.
Positive result indicates test threshold of 0.1ng/ml Negative result does not rule out a cardiac infarction of myocardial cell damage with certainty.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What tests are done in Clinical Biochemistry?
These tests measure things like blood sugar, liver function, kidney function, cholesterol and
electrolytes.
electrolytes.
2. Do I need to report fasting?before these tests?
No, Fasting is not required.
3. How soon will I get my reports?
Mon-Sat, sample before 4pm, report same day and sunday reports, next day.
4. Are biochemistry tests reliable?
Yes. We use fully automated machines that ensure accurate and consistent results.
5. Can these tests detect early health problems?
Yes — Troponin T (Trop T) can detect early health problems, but its use is very specific to heart injury rather than general disease screening. It is an early and sensitive marker for heart muscle damage.
TAT Policy
The Turnaround Time (TAT) depends on the following factors:
- Registration date and time
- Type of scan or test
- Scan time or sample collection time
In uncommon circumstances, TAT may be delayed due to test complexity or reasons beyond our control. You will be informed of the estimated TAT at the time of registration.
