Also Known As: Po4 or Ing. Po4
The Phosphorus (Phosphate) blood test measures the amount of inorganic phosphate (PO₄³⁻) in the blood. Phosphorus is an essential mineral that plays a major role in: Bone and teeth formation (as calcium phosphate), Energy metabolism (as ATP), Cell membrane structure (as phospholipids), Acid–base balance, Muscle and nerve function. 1. What tests are done in Clinical Biochemistry?
These tests measure things like blood sugar, liver function, kidney function, cholesterol and
electrolytes.
2. Do I need to report fasting?before these tests?
No, Fasting is not required.
3. How soon will I get my reports?
Mon-Sat, sample before 4pm, report same day and sunday reports, next day.
4. Are biochemistry tests reliable?
Yes. We use fully automated machines that ensure accurate and consistent results.
5. Can these tests detect early health problems?
Yes. Phosphorus (serum phosphate) testing can detect early health problems, especially bone, kidney, and metabolic disorders.

The Turnaround Time (TAT) depends on the following factors:

  • Registration date and time
  • Type of scan or test
  • Scan time or sample collection time

In uncommon circumstances, TAT may be delayed due to test complexity or reasons beyond our control. You will be informed of the estimated TAT at the time of registration.
