The Maternal Serum Screen 2, commonly called the Dual Test, is a first-trimester prenatal screening test performed between 10–13+6 weeks of pregnancy. It measures two biochemical markers in the mother’s blood to estimate the risk of chromosomal abnormalities in the fetus. Mainly two markers are measured Free β-hCG (Free Beta Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) and PAPP-A (Pregnancy Associated Plasma Protein-A). These values are interpreted together with Maternal age, Gestational age, Ultrasound NT value (Nuchal Translucency thickness) to generate risk estimates.
