The Magnesium blood test measures the level of magnesium in your blood. Magnesium is an essential mineral involved in: Nerve and muscle function, Heart rhythm regulation, Bone health, Energy production, Protein synthesis. This test is done to check for deficiency (hypomagnesemia) or excess (hypermagnesemia). This test helps diagnose electrolyte imbalance, Important in cardiac assessment, Used along with calcium, potassium, sodium for metabolic evaluation, essential for critical care monitoring and important in CKD, diabetes, GI diseases, and pregnancy-related conditions.
