The IgG blood test measures the level of Immunoglobulin G (IgG), the most abundant antibody in the blood and body fluids. IgG plays a major role in long-term immunity and protection against infections, especially after exposure or vaccination. Increased levels may be seen in SLE, chronic liver diseases, infectious diseases, and cystic fibrosis. Monoclonal IgG increases in IgG myeloma. Decreased synthesis of IgG is found in congenital/ acquired immunodeficiencies and in selective subclass deficiency such as Bruton type agammaglobulinemia. Decreeased IgG concentrations are seen in protein-losing enteropathies, nephrotic syndrome and in skin burns.

These tests measure things like blood sugar, liver function, kidney function, cholesterol, electrolytes.
2. Do I need to report fasting?before these tests?
Fasting is not required.
3. How soon will I get my reports?
Mon-Sat, sample before 4pm, report same day and sunday reports, next day.
4. Are biochemistry tests reliable?
Yes. We use fully automated machines that ensure accurate and consistent results.
5. Can these tests detect early health problems?
Yes. IgG (Immunoglobulin G) testing can help detect certain early health problems—mainly related to immune status, past or chronic infections, autoimmune activity, and immune deficiency.

The Turnaround Time (TAT) depends on the following factors:

  • Registration date and time
  • Type of scan or test
  • Scan time or sample collection time

In uncommon circumstances, TAT may be delayed due to test complexity or reasons beyond our control. You will be informed of the estimated TAT at the time of registration.
