About This Test
Neurosonogram is a specialized ultrasound examination of the fetal or neonatal brain to assess structural development and detect abnormalities. In fetuses, it evaluates brain anatomy, ventricles, corpus callosum, cerebellum, and cortical development, typically performed in high-risk pregnancies. In neonates, cranial ultrasound through the fontanelles helps detect hemorrhage, hydrocephalus, or malformations. Neurosonography is non-invasive, safe, and allows real-time imaging, aiding early diagnosis, monitoring, and management of neurological conditions, thereby supporting optimal clinical outcomes for both fetus and newborn.
