About This Test

Obstetric ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging technique used to monitor fetal growth, development, and well-being throughout pregnancy. It evaluates gestational age, fetal anatomy, placental location, amniotic fluid, and multiple pregnancies. Doppler assessment provides information on blood flow in the umbilical cord, fetal vessels, and maternal circulation, aiding detection of fetal compromise. Obstetric ultrasound is essential for prenatal care, guiding diagnosis, monitoring high-risk pregnancies, detecting anomalies, and supporting clinical decisions to optimize maternal and fetal outcomes safely and effectively.
