About This Test
The CVP Tip Culture & Sensitivity test is performed on the tip of a Central Venous Catheter (CVC/CVP line) after it is removed from a patient to check for infection associated with the catheter. This test detects whether bacteria or fungi have colonized or infected the catheter and identifies which antibiotics or antifungals are effective. It is done using automated culture systems for faster and accurate results.
