About This Test
Glomerular basement membrane is a part of your kidneys which helps to filter the waste & extra fluid from the body. In certain situations you develop antibodies against your own glomerular basement membrane cells leading to autoimmune disease which damages your kidneys. Some patients in addition develop bleeding in the lungs. This is called Good Pasture Syndrome. Symptoms include blood in urine, high blood pressure, anemia, difficulty in breathing, chest pain & cough.
