About This Test
The P-ANCA test detects autoantibodies directed against components of neutrophil granules, primarily myeloperoxidase (MPO). Used in the diagnosis and monitoring of ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV), particularly microscopic polyangiitis (MPA) and eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA). P-ANCA is named for the perinuclear fluorescence pattern seen on IFA.
