About This Test
Antibodies against dsDNA are specific for systemic Lupus erythromatosus, they are serological marker for this disease with a prevalence of 20-90%. Antibodies against dsDNA are also occasionally detected in patients with other autoimmune diseases and rarely, in clinically healthy people. The definite diagnosis should be made by the physician after all clinical and lab finding have been evaluated.
