About This Test
This is a serological test used to detect antibodies (IgM and/or IgG) produced in response to infection by Leptospira, the bacteria that cause leptospirosis. IgM antibody is detectable within 1-2 weeks after the onset of the illness and peaks at 2-4 weeks. IgG antibody rises later in the course of the disease.
