Also Known As:
Thyroglobulin (TG) is a highly specific marker for differentiated thyroid carcinoma. It is useful in the diagnosis of thyroid neoplasms specially at metastatic sites. TG is not a very sensitive marker for poorly differentiated carcinomas, hence this test is recommended along with TTF-1.
