Anti-IgLON5 disease is a recently described rare entity characterized by a distinctive sleep disorder from parasomnia to complete sleeplessness. It is associated with broad variety of neurological symptoms such as gait instability, movement disorders, bulbar involvement & cognitive dysfunction. The antibodies develop against IgLON5, a neuronal cell adhesion molecule. There is a strong association of this disease with HLA DRB1*10:01 and HLA DQB1*05:01 haplotypes. These antibodies have been described in patients suspected with Limbic encephalitis. This disease affects men & women equally between the ages of 45 to 79 years. It is rarely associated with thymoma.
