Alder tree is commonly found near streams, rivers and wetlands. Pollen from this tree is shed in spring time. More than 30 proteins have been identified in the pollen which can lead to allergies.The wood from this tree is used to make electric guitars. People who are employed in factories making guitars or using the wood from this tree are at high risk of developing allergy. Symptoms include sneezing, stuffy nose, irritation in the eyes, coughing & hives.
