About This Test
Auto antibodies against glutamate receptors (NMDA type) are specific markers for anti glutamate receptor type encephalitis. This is an inflammatory encephalopathic autoimmune disease and still widely under diagnosed. This is frequently associated with ovarian and testicular teratomas.
