About This Test
This assay is useful as a follow up of patients with differentiated thyroid cancers after thyroidectomy & ablation. It also acts as an aid in determining the presence of thyroid metastasis to lymph nodes. In the absence of significant thyroid remnant, elevated or rising Tg levels are suspicious of recurrent or persistent disease.
