About This Test
Smith antibodies are specific for Lupus erythematosus occuring in nearly 30% of these patients. It is a component of extractable nuclear antigens also seen in other connective tissue disorders. This assay is useful for evaluating patients with signs and symptoms of a connective tissue disorder in whom ANA is positive.
