Porphyrias are a diverse group of disorders characterized by accumulation of porphyrins & porphyrinogen. This assay is used in the differential diagnosis of Porphyrias. It is a preferred test during symptomatic period for Acute intermittent porphyria, Hereditary coproporphyria & Variegate porphyria.
