About This Test
This assay is used as a followup marker in patients with NSE secreting tumors of any type. It is an auxillary tool in the diagnosis of Small Cell lung carcinoma (SCLS), Carcinoid tumors, Islet cell tumors & Neuroblastomas. It also helps in the assessment of comatose patients.
