Jo-1 antibodies are a marker of Polymyositis & occur most commonly in Myositis patients who also have Interstitial lung disease. The antibodies are detected in 50% patients with Interstitial pulmonary fibrosis & Symmetrical polyarthritis.

Jo-1 antibody is an autoantibody directed against histidyl-tRNA synthetase, a protein involved in protein synthesis. It is part of the anti-synthetase antibody family and is primarily associated with autoimmune inflammatory myopathies, particularly polymyositis and dermatomyositis.
