JAK 2 MUTATION DETECTION QUALITATIVE PCR(N039)
Also Known As:
JAK 2 Gene Mutation Detection (V617F) [Exon 14]
JAK 2
JAK2 Mutation Detection
About This Test
The JAK2 mutation can be detected in 65-97% of Polycythemia vera, 25-55% of Essential thrombocythemia, and 35-57% of Chronic idiopathic myelofibrosis. This test detects the V617F mutation for JAK2. This assay aids in the distinction between Reactive cytosis & Chronic myeloproliferative disorder.

JAK2 (Janus Kinase 2) is a gene that regulates blood cell production through the JAK-STAT signaling pathway. Mutations in this gene, most commonly V617F, lead to uncontrolled proliferation of blood cells, causing myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs). Qualitative PCR detects the presence or absence of these mutations in a patient’s DNA.
TAT Policy
The Turnaround Time (TAT) depends on the following factors:
- Registration date and time
- Type of scan or test
- Scan time or sample collection time
In uncommon circumstances, TAT may be delayed due to test complexity or reasons beyond our control. You will be informed of the estimated TAT at the time of registration.
