CD45, also called Leukocyte Common Antigen (LCA), is a protein expressed on the surface of all leukocytes (white blood cells). IHC for CD45 is used to determine whether a tissue or tumor is of hematopoietic (blood cell) origin, which is critical for diagnosing lymphomas, leukemias, and other hematologic malignancies.
