About This Test
DNA testing is analytically more sensitive specially in patients with Encephalitis, Meningitis and Neonatal infections. Encephalitis is usually due to HSV 1 virus whereas Meningitis is usually due to HSV 2 virus. DNA testing provides reliable means to define the type.
