About This Test
Colonization with H.pylori is associated with increased risk of developing gastritis, peptic ulcer disease and gastric malignancies. Antibody IgG may not be accompanied by an increase in IgM or IgA antibodies. It may be elevated for years in infected individuals. Following treatment, values generally decrease, but may not become undetectable.
