About This Test
Translocation t(11;14) is found in most cases of Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) but upto 30% of patients with a characteristic MCL lack this translocation. MCL shows a male predominance with a high incidence of disseminated disease & poor outcome even with intensive chemotherapy. Due to the poor prognosis, an accurate identification of MCL is imperative to initiate specific intensive therapeutic strategies. The t(11;14) is a common chromosome translocation in Multiple Myeloma & Plasma cell leukemia.
