The Filaria antigen test detects circulating filarial antigens (CFA) in the blood, indicating the presence of adult filarial worms in the lymphatic system. This test is highly sensitive and specific for diagnosing lymphatic filariasis, even when microfilariae are not detectable in peripheral blood.
