Urine Urine for ethanol (alcohol)
About This Test
This assay detects Ethyl Glucuronide (EtG) and Ethyl Sulphate (EtS) metabolites of ethanol (alcohol) in urine. EtG & EtS are direct alcohol biomarkers and are physiological indicators of alcohol exposure or ingestion and may reflect the presence of chronic and/or high level of use of alcohol. These are highly sensitive markers, they become positive shortly after exposure to alcohol even at very low levels and may remain detectable in urine for 1 to 2 days.
